Privacy Policy for Gmail Multi Account Notifier

Gmail Multi Account Notifier is a Chrome extension that checks configured Gmail accounts for unread message counts and sign-in status.

Data the extension stores

The extension stores the following data locally in Chrome extension storage:

• Gmail email addresses entered by the user
• Optional account display names entered by the user
• Gmail account slot numbers entered by the user
• Last known unread counts
• Last known account status, such as available, signed out, or wrong account
• Extension settings such as polling interval and notification preference
• The user's acknowledgement of the extension's data-use disclosure

The Gmail Atom feed requested by the extension may contain message summary metadata. The extension uses only the account identity, unread count, and sign-in status. It does not store or display message senders, subjects, snippets, or message bodies.

How data is used

The extension uses this data only to:

• Display unread Gmail counts in the extension popup
• Show the toolbar badge count
• Open the selected Gmail inbox
• Notify the user when unread mail appears
• Show, in red in the popup and on the toolbar badge, when a configured account is signed out or appears to be the wrong account

Data sharing

The extension does not sell, share, transfer, or disclose user data to third parties. It does not use analytics or advertising.

Remote servers

The extension does not send user data to any server owned by the developer.

The extension requests Gmail unread count information directly from https://mail.google.com/mail/ using the user's existing signed-in Chrome/Gmail session.

Remote code

The extension does not load or execute remotely hosted code.

Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention

Data remains in Chrome extension storage until the user edits the settings, clears extension data, or uninstalls the extension.
